<p>Social media comes with perks and problems, due to easy access, ever-evolving technology, trolling, and hard to erase digital footprints. Research shows that social media can be both a positive influence (for example, students improving grades using Facebook groups as virtual study sessions) and a distraction, or worse (studies find that women are more prone to experience stress because of Facebook and become addicted to it). This book explores how social sites impact people’s lives, with examples drawn from the experiences of students as they forge a path to success through earning degrees and ascending the career ladder. It presents a diverse group of contributors, all with graduate degrees, who reflect on the role of social media in their grades, relationships, self-worth, and presentation of themselves to their virtual networks. </p>
