The Children of the Anthropocene will chronicle the lives of young people on the frontlines of the environmental crisis around the world. We watch fearfully as species slip into oblivion at our hands. We often forget that humans, too, are bound up with the fate of the natural world. Across the planet the futures of many young people hang in the balance as they face the realities of the environmental crisis. Bella’s book will celebrate the work they are doing to save both the planet and the lives of the young people most directly impacted by the crisis. The book will contain a vast breadth of diverse stories, from a young Alaskan activist, Quannah, who sees her ancestral way of life melting away at speed with the glaciers, to a young person from the Terraba tribe in Costa Rica who switches from predator to protector of the biodiversity in their community.
